If you've donated to Humable Foundation — or are thinking about it — you qualify for a significant tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. This guide explains exactly what that means, how much you save, and what you need to do to claim it.

What Is Section 80G?

Section 80G allows Indian taxpayers to deduct a portion of their donations to approved charitable organisations from their taxable income. The deduction reduces the income on which you pay tax — so you pay less tax while supporting a cause you believe in.

Humable Foundation is certified under Section 80G by the Income Tax Department. Every donation to us qualifies.

How Much Can You Deduct?

For Humable Foundation, the deduction is 50% of the donated amount, subject to a limit of 10% of your adjusted gross total income.

Example: You donate ₹10,000 to Humable Foundation. You can claim a deduction of ₹5,000 (50%). If you're in the 30% tax bracket, this saves you ₹1,500 in actual tax paid.

What You Need to Claim the Deduction

When Will You Receive the Receipt?

For online donations via our website, the receipt is emailed to you within 24 hours of payment confirmation. For bank transfers and cheques, receipts are issued within 5 working days of funds being credited.

If you haven't received your receipt within this window, email us at info@humablefoundation.in with your name, amount, and payment date — we'll resolve it the same day.

What About NRI Donors?

NRI donors contributing to Humable Foundation via our FCRA-designated account receive a donation acknowledgment and are subject to FCRA regulations rather than the domestic 80G provisions. Consult your tax advisor regarding the applicable treatment under the DTAA for your country of residence.

Corporate Donors (CSR)

Companies donating through our CSR programme receive both an 80G certificate and a CSR-1 confirmation for Schedule VII compliance under the Companies Act, 2013. These are issued on the date of receipt of payment.

How to Donate and Claim

  1. Donate online at humablefoundation.in/donate.html
  2. Enter your PAN number in the donation form (required for tax receipt)
  3. Complete payment via Razorpay
  4. Check your email — receipt arrives within 24 hours
  5. Share the receipt with your CA at tax filing time

It's that simple. Your generosity costs you significantly less after tax than the face value of your donation — and the impact on a beneficiary's life is no less for it.
